  • Managing the pressure in a tense match. What is your mental technique? - Incredibox mardi 7 octobre 2025 a 04:18
    Hi community

I want to start a discussion about an often overlooked aspect of training: mental focus in a competition situation.

We've all been there: 19:19 in the third set, hands shaking a little, heart racing, and mind starting to think about everything... except the steering wheel

Personally, I find myself often losing key points because of stress or wanting to "finish too quickly". I try to take deep breaths or say positive things to myself, but it's not always easy.

How do you stay calm and focused in crucial moments?

Do you have any little rituals (breathing, visualization, mental keywords, etc.) that help you stay calm? And do you think we can train the mind like we train the body?

I think this topic can help many intermediate players (like me) better manage the stressful stages of a match. If any of you have worked with a mental coach, a sports coach, or have simply found your own method, please share your feedback.

Thanks in advance for your ideas. I look forward to reading your tips and maybe implementing them in my next session!

    Regards,
